* Ongoing position available
* Total Remuneration Package Range starting from $231,238 – $256,184



Your role



As the Director, Contracts & Compliance, you will lead the governance, monitoring and strategic oversight of contracted and privately‑operated correctional services across Corrective Services NSW. This senior leadership role ensures contractual integrity, operational continuity and the safe, effective delivery of services that support CSNSW’s strategic priorities and community outcomes.

You will oversee major operational transitions, including provider changes and infrastructure transfers, ensuring these are executed seamlessly, transparently and in alignment with legislative, policy and contractual obligations. As a trusted advisor to the Executive, you will shape contract governance settings, influence statewide operational outcomes, and strengthen CSNSW’s capability in managing high‑value, high‑risk contracted environments.



What you’ll do



As the Director, Contracts and Compliance, you will:

* Lead the transition of correctional services, programs and operations to new providers, ensuring continuity, risk mitigation and contractual compliance.
* Oversee the transfer and management of Public Private Partnership (PPP) correctional infrastructure and operations, ensuring alignment with operational, legal and commercial requirements.
* Direct the development, implementation and assurance of operating specifications, KPIs and contractual obligations for privately managed and contracted services.
* Provide authoritative, timely advice to the CSNSW Executive on contract administration, operational impacts, transition progress and compliance performance.
* Build and maintain strong relationships with private operators, contracted providers, Infrastructure NSW and internal stakeholders to support governance, performance and issue resolution.
* Design and implement transition programs that address commercial, operational and policy requirements while safeguarding service delivery standards.
* Oversee contract management frameworks, monitoring systems and reporting protocols to ensure integrity, probity and high‑quality compliance outcomes.
* Lead, coach and develop your teams, fostering a professional, high‑performing culture focused on accountability, collaboration and service excellence

What we’re looking for



* Demonstrated expertise leading large‑scale operational transitions, complex contract governance and high‑risk contract environments.
* Proven capability in overseeing contracted or private‑operator service delivery
* Strong experience managing diverse stakeholder groups, including senior executives, contracted providers and partner agencies.
* High‑level strategic analysis, problem‑solving and decision‑making skills
* Advanced communication, negotiation and influencing skills with the ability to navigate sensitive issues and build productive, trusted relationships.
* Strong financial and commercial acumen, including experience with high‑value contracts, risk assessment and performance frameworks.
* Demonstrated ability to lead high‑performing teams, build capability and foster a culture of professionalism, integrity and continuous improvement.
* A commitment to ethical leadership, cultural safety, inclusion and high‑performance environments.

We manage inmates in custody and supervise offenders in the community, working closely with courts, releasing authorities and partner agencies to support rehabilitation, reintegration and community safety.
