About the Role
We are seeking a motivated Gate and Garage Door Technician to join our team at Melbourne Automatic Gate Repairs in Thomastown, VIC. This is a full-time, long-term position suited to someone looking to build a stable career within a growing business.
The role is hands-on and customer-facing, involving the installation, servicing, maintenance, and repair of automated gate and garage door systems across residential, commercial, and industrial sites.
What You'll Be Doing
• Inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing automated gate and garage door systems
• Carrying out scheduled servicing and preventative maintenance
• Installing new automation equipment including motors, control boards, safety devices, and accessories
• Fault finding electrical and mechanical issues
• Communicating with customers to understand requirements and provide practical solutions
• Ensuring all works are completed safely and to a high standard
• Completing job documentation and service records accurately
What We're Looking For
• Previous experience as a gate or garage door technician is preferred but not essential
• A background in electrical, mechanical, or similar trade (formal qualification advantageous but not mandatory)
• Willingness to learn and develop skills in gate and garage door automation
• Strong problem-solving and fault-finding ability
• Good communication skills and a professional approach with customers
• Attention to detail and pride in quality workmanship
• A valid driver's licence
