An experienced Safety Advisor is required for the Principal Contractor performing Geotechnical Design activities based in Somerset. The intention is to provide design input for the extension of the dam. Activities for next 12 months include:
Geotechnical Investigations including
* Scaffolding installation for geotechnical investigation on abutment / bank of the dam wall. Anticipating 20-30 people involved in this process to build up the side of the dam wall through rocky terrain
* Helicopter Due to the complex bank access issues and Environmental restrictions, the chosen methodology is use of a sky crane (Helicopter) to lower pads, rigs, tools. Developing refuelling sites and ensuring compliance. SIMOPS of additional TMR activities east of the river (new intersection)
* Civil construction - Access paths
* Working adjacent or on roads completing minor volumes of geotechnical investigations
Role:
Base on site for a minimum of 3 days, could be 5 in peak periods.
Accommodation included, team are based in Esk and commute back and forth
Vehicle could be provided or provisions of a site / mine spec vehicle to be reimbursed.
Activities:
* Working with site team to continue to work on assurance activities, coaching of team on site based requirements.
* Conducting inspections, audits, and observations.
* Reporting of incidents, observations, audits and inspections.
* Working with contractors to ensure compliance of plant, people, and processes.
* SWMS reviews
* Plant inductions
* Chemical management
* Incident investigation management
* Maintaining registers
* Completing Environment inspections
* Environment is a key risk for the client and inspections for Sediment control required
* Advising site manager and supervisors of WHS responsibilities through planning activities, and said assurance activities.
