Retail Banking Services is the public face of CommBank, delivering a seamless banking experience for our customers. We support our flagship CommBank App, NetBank site and digital experiences through various offerings, including everyday banking, investment, and home loans.
You will play a key role in steering the organisation by providing expert advice on technology, solution design and architecture, people leadership and hiring. You will bring a perfect blend of people management and technical expertise and be responsible for shaping the evolution of the technical squad.

* Contributes to CommBank's Engineering Management Practice by coaching and mentoring engineers and raising the bar for the discipline across the organization.
* Promotes open communication and creates a safe working environment where engineers' voices are heard to achieve great outcomes.
* Effectively communicates engineering practice standards and consistent ways of working across squads and CBA that align to industry standards.
* Drives operational excellence and supports teams in charge of mission-critical production services with diverse stakeholders and complex dependencies.
* Encourages risk-taking and constructively challenges the status quo while influencing stakeholders and building diverse and inclusive teams.
Tech skills we use
We utilise a broad range of tools, languages, and frameworks, including:
* Back-end: C#, ASP.NET, .NET Core.
* Front-end: Modern JavaScript frameworks.
* Sound knowledge of large-scale distributed systems, Microservices, and Rest API Integration.
* Cloud: AWS or Azure.
* CI/CD pipeline: GitHub Actions, TeamCity, Octopus.
* DB: SQL database and NoSQL database (PostgreSQL, Amazon Aurora, DynamoDB).
* Experience with GenAI and Payments domain is desirable.
