Overview
We are a dynamic force in the building and construction materials sector, delivering high-performance solutions that boost durability, sustainability, and value for our customers. Our team blends scientific excellence with practical application, turning laboratory insights into real-world products and services—from concrete admixtures and coatings to sealants, mortars, and reinforced composites. We pride ourselves on a collaborative culture, rigorous safety standards, and a commitment to ongoing innovation that supports a greener, smarter built environment.
The Role
The Industrial / Applications Chemist will combine hands-on laboratory work with field/plant support to drive product performance across construction markets. Key responsibilities include:
- Formulation support and development for concrete admixtures, coatings, sealants, mortars, and other construction materials.
- Conducting routine and advanced analytical testing, including particle size, viscosity, setting time, strength testing, adhesion, and durability assessments.
- Supporting quality control and QC/QA programs, ensuring compliance with internal standards and relevant industry standards.
- Providing technical service to customers and external partners: solving performance issues, interpreting test data, and delivering practical recommendations.
- Laboratory safety, data integrity, and meticulous documentation (SOP adherence).
- Collaborating with product development, manufacturing, and sales teams to translate market needs into robust, scalable formulations.
- Keeping abreast of industry trends, regulatory changes, and sustainability initiatives affecting building materials.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, polymer science, materials science, chemical engineering, or a closely related field (relevant practical experience may be considered in lieu of part of formal education).
- Relevant industrial or applications chemistry experience in the building/construction materials sector (coatings, concrete, cementitious systems, sealants, mortars, composites) is highly desirable.
- Practical laboratory skills and familiarity with standard construction material characterization techniques.
- Experience with formulation development, routine QC testing, and interpretation of performance data.
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulatory guidelines pertinent to construction materials.
- Proficient data analysis and communication skills; ability to present technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
- Problem-solving mindset, adaptability, and a team-oriented team orientation.
What We Offer
- Competitive salary and benefits package.
- Opportunities for professional growth, training, and career advancement.
- A collaborative, safety-driven work environment focused on innovation.
