This role is critical to ensuring our warehouse operations run efficiently and safely, while supporting laboratory and site teams through effective sample/material storage, dispatch, and inter-site logistics coordination.## You will play a key role in setting up and improving warehouse operations, coordinating movements between sites, and ensuring strong day-to-day communication with the drivers, team members, and site managers.## Applicants will be based in the Balcatta facility.## # **The day to day*** ### Participating in the set-up and establishment of warehouse operations, including layout, racking/location systems, workflows, and operational readiness tasks* ### Managing all facets of sample/material storage including receivals, retrievals, packaging, location allocation, returns and disposal in line with client and operational requirements* ### Coordinating inter-site movements of samples/materials, ensuring correct documentation, tracking, and chain-of-custody requirements (where applicable)* ### Scheduling and coordinating a driver for pickups/deliveries between sites, including run planning, priorities, and site access requirements* ### Maintaining clear, proactive communication with the site manager and operational teams to manage priorities, timeframes, and any delays or issues* ### Operating gas and/or electric forklifts (or reach trucks) for loading/unloading pallets and materials from racking and vehicles* ### Data entry and monitoring using systems such as SIM, EMS and Excel (or similar)* ### Completing inventories/cycle counts and maintaining accurate stock/location records* ### Maintaining high standards of housekeeping and warehouse presentation* ### Supporting leadership through task allocation, coordination of warehouse staff, and oversight of basic infrastructure/equipment needs# **The essentials*** ### Experience participating in the setup or improvement of a warehouse (layout, racking/locations, processes, or operational readiness)* ### Proven experience coordinating logistics and movements between sites* ### ·Strong communication skills with the ability to coordinate drivers and work closely with site management and teams* ### Forklift/reach truck experience (licence preferred or ability to obtain)* ### Strong focus on safety, quality and teamwork* ### High attention to detail and a methodical approach to documentation and tracking* ### Good organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage changing priorities* ### Sound computer skills (Excel and warehouse/laboratory systems experience desirable)**Working at ALS**The ALS team is a diverse and dedicated community united by our passion to make a difference in the world.Our values are important to us, and shape how we work, how we treat each other and how we recognise excellence.At ALS, you'll be supported to develop new skills and reach your full potential.
