Overview
Sales Manager ANZ & FIJI - Packaging Board. This is a key leadership position responsible for driving sales growth and managing commercial operations across Australia, New Zealand, and Pacific Islands. The Sales Manager develops and executes sales strategies, builds and maintains relationships with distributors, merchants and key customers, and identifies new business opportunities to expand packaging board sales in general & food packaging.
In addition to overseeing sales activities, the role coordinates with internal stakeholders, including the Mill Operation Teams in Indonesia and China, to ensure operational efficiency and alignment with overall business goals. The position requires a strategic thinker with strong commercial acumen, excellent customer engagement skills, and the ability to work within a matrix organization and independently in a dynamic market.
Key Responsibilities
Account Management & Business Development
* Develop and grow business with assigned distributors and key customers.
* Foster strategic business relationships with Key Accounts and decision-makers to enhance brand visibility and strengthen partnerships.
* Identify and pursue new market opportunities, customer segments, and brands.
Market & Sales Execution
* Lead market penetration strategies and initiate sales breakthroughs.
* Introduce new products/services and organize customer visits or product presentations.
* Plan and execute promotional campaigns, product listings, and tailored sales activities to achieve objectives.
Sales Reporting & Strategy
* Analyze sales data, market trends, and competitor activity to provide strategic insights.
* Prepare timely sales reports and forecasts for management review.
* Recommend sales initiatives and actions to optimize performance.
Team & Operational Coordination
* Collaborate with Mill Operation Teams to align supply, logistics, and customer service standards.
* Maintain high standards of professional relationships and customer service.
Other Duties
* Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned within a matrix organization.
Qualifications & Experience
* Minimum 5 years of working experience in sales, preferably within the Paper, Printing, Packaging, or Paper Converting industries.
* Proven track record in building sales in competitive fast-paced environments.
* Proven ability to work within a matrix reporting structure independently with minimal supervision.
* Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
* Customer-focused with excellent business acumen and a results-oriented approach.
* Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Business, Marketing, or related fields preferred; however suitable candidates with significant industry experience will be considered.
