Subcontractor Auditor – Ethical Employment & Site Surveys
We're looking for experienced and detail-oriented Subcontractor Auditors in Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane to support our growing audit programme across Australia. As part of our regional audit pool, you'll play a key role in delivering Ethical Employment, Site Survey, and QHSE (Quality, Health, Safety & Environment) audits for leading construction, operations, and infrastructure clients.
What You'll Do
Conduct onsite Ethical Employment, Site Surveys, and QHSE audits at supplier locations
Assess compliance across recruitment, modern slavery, wages & benefits, quality controls, health & safety practices, environmental processes, ethics, working hours, and supply chain governance
Review documentation such as contracts, payslips, training records, induction files, safety processes, QHSE manuals, incident reports, environmental procedures, and supplier qualification evidence
Interview supplier representatives, site managers, workforce personnel, and HSE leads
Evaluate gaps, risks, and non-conformities in line with Achilles audit protocols across Ethical Employment, Site Operations, and QHSE standards
Prepare structured audit reports with clear findings and improvement recommendations
Coordinate audit schedules and onsite requirements with the Achilles APAC team
Represent Achilles professionally as a subject matter expert during site visits
What We're Looking For
Prior audit experience in one or more of the following:
Ethical employment / workforce practices
HR, compliance, QHSE / HSE, or supply chain audits
Construction or operational site assessments
Strong understanding of evidence review, compliance checks, and documentation verification (including Quality, Health, Safety & Environment controls)
Excellent communication and interview skills
Ability to prepare clear, concise, and structured audit reports
High level of professionalism, independence, and integrity
Flexibility to travel for onsite audits on weekdays
Based in Australia with availability across NSW / VIC / QLD preferred
