Key Responsibilities
· Carry out tree climbing operations and perform pruning, shaping, and removal of trees and branches using ropes, harnesses, and rigging equipment.
· Trim and clear vegetation around electricity and power lines in accordance with safety regulations and utility requirements.
· Operate chainsaws, chippers, stump grinders, and elevated work platforms (EWPs) safely and efficiently to undertake tree maintenance work.
· Inspect trees for signs of damage, decay, or structural weakness and report findings to supervisors or qualified arborists for further assessment.
· Assist in pest and disease management activities under the guidance of arboricultural specialists.
· Work collaboratively with ground crew and site teams to coordinate tree removal, pruning, and cleanup operations.
· Follow appropriate rigging and dismantling techniques to ensure safe and controlled lowering of limbs and debris.
· Ensure all work complies with Australian Standard AS 4373 – Pruning of Amenity Trees, Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) procedures, and site-specific safety plans.
· Maintain equipment by cleaning, inspecting, and performing minor servicing to ensure operational readiness.
· Record details of work completed, including tree locations, maintenance activities, and safety checks.
Selection Criteria
* Minimum 3 year of experience as a Tree worker (ANZSCO and/or equivalent international
experience).
* Valid White Card (Construction Induction).
* Manual Driver's Licence (Medium Rigid licence preferred).
* First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain within 3 months).
* Strong knowledge of tree species, health assessment, and Australian Standard AS
4373.
* Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
