Responsibilities
- Provide specialist clinical pharmacy services to Maternity and Paediatrics and support clinical pharmacy services on other wards as required.
- Ensure safe, effective, and cost-conscious medication management.
- Actively engage in clinical governance and education.
- Mentor staff, collaborate with teams, and support continuous improvement.
- Lead, coordinate, and develop clinical pharmacy services across designated areas, ensuring compliance with departmental and hospital standards, policies, and procedures.
- Mentor, supervise, and manage pharmacy staff to foster professional growth and ensure high-quality patient care.
- Actively participate in clinical governance, education, and professional development activities while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, external agencies, and consumers to optimize care and service outcomes.
About You
We’re seeking an experienced Clinical Pharmacist with proven expertise in clinical reasoning, judgment, and delivery of high-quality pharmacy services. You’ll thrive working both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team, managing complex workloads with initiative and problem-solving skills. Strong interpersonal abilities are essential, including communication, negotiation, and fostering a positive workplace culture. You’ll bring excellent written and oral communication skills, with experience developing guidelines, procedures, and educational or research materials. A commitment to continuous quality improvement, service development, and professional growth is key, along with experience mentoring and supporting staff through training, education, and research.
Requirements
- Registered as a practicing pharmacist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
- Post-registration clinical or management/leadership qualifications, or equivalent skills/experience
- Able and willing to participate in on-call, after hours, weekend and public holiday work as required
Additional Information
- To be eligible for employment in this position you must be an Australian Citizen, or permanent resident of Australia, or a New Zealand citizen with a current New Zealand Passport, or hold an appropriate visa that allows you to live and work in Australia. Employment of a temporary visa holder will only be offered in line with the conditions and expiry date of your visa.
