Novaskill is currently partnered with a renowned and reputable business to offer a Certificate III in Individual Support Traineeship.
This hands-on role of Support Worker (Workshop/Warehouse) focuses on helping people with a disability build practical work skills in a busy warehouse workplace.
The aim is to promote community inclusion, independence, decision-making, and personal choice, while supporting each person's individual needs.
In this role, you'll work directly alongside people with a disability in the workshop/warehouse area.
You'll assist them in learning and applying workplace skills, maintaining supported employment, and contributing to the completion of real product orders under supervision.
This is a rewarding opportunity to combine meaningful support work with practical, hands-on warehouse experience.
Responsibilities
Support participants in accessing the community to complete workshop orders or jobs as per work allocation
Provide best-practice customer service to all customers
Ensure participants' individual service plan (ISP) has been read to understand how best to support participants
Support participants to participate actively in decision-making relative to the service being provided to them daily
Support participants to complete general workshop tasks including but not limited to shredding confidential material, painting projects, sewing projects, and completing customer orders for customers based on skill level
Packaging orders and loading orders onto trucks
Residential bin cleaning, window cleaning, driveway cleaning or mowing
Painting wood products
Cutting, sanding, preparing wood product for orders
Balance multiple tasks simultaneously and make informed decisions in consulting with relevant stakeholders
Develop smooth, constructive relationships with colleagues, outside agencies, organisations, and individuals
Completion of purchase orders if required
Demonstrate commitment to continued professional growth and development
Complete ongoing training on workshop equipment to ensure current knowledge is maintained
Assist in organisational tasks for the smooth running of the workshop.
Availability to work across various shifts based on organisational work priorities and contracted hours
Qualifications and Skills
Current driver's licence
NDIS Worker Screening Check
NDIS Workers Orientation Module Certificate
Current First Aid Certificate
Relevant workshop skills
Effective communication both verbal and written
Ability to communicate positively and effectively with co-workers, participants, customers, and the wider community with maturity and discretion
Empathic and supportive nature with relationships for both participants and team members
