We currently have an opportunity for a progressive and experienced Laboratory Supervisor to join our team. Based within our Bridgewater Asphalt Plant and reporting to the Technical Manager, you will be responsible for:
Responsibilities
* Leading and managing daily laboratory operations, ensuring all testing and reporting comply with National Association of Testing Authorities (NATA) requirements and internal quality systems.
* Overseeing and conducting quality control testing for asphalt, aggregates, sand and other raw materials, including data entry, verification and reporting.
* Maintaining laboratory equipment and calibrations, and ensuring accurate testing documentation in line with accreditation and Information Management System (IMS) requirements.
* Providing technical advice to operations teams, including recommendations on mix design, process improvements and compaction feedback to field crews.
* Monitoring raw material compliance, liaising with suppliers and clients, and supporting internal and external audit activities.
Qualifications
* Diploma in Laboratory Technology or similar (highly regarded).
* Experience in quality control testing within a laboratory environment.
* Previous work in a NATA accredited laboratory (highly regarded).
* Strong understanding of asphalt, aggregates, and bituminous surfacing preferred.
* Ability to work autonomously and lead a small team.
* Strong communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
* Good numerical and data management capabilities.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and internal systems.
* Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
