* Expected salary: $70,000 - $80,000 per year
Wharf One Food & Wine, located at the Darwin Waterfront, is looking for an experienced person to join the team as a Function Manager.
Responsibilities
* Oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of special events and private functions, including weddings, corporate events, and social gatherings.
* Work closely with clients to understand their event requirements, preferences, and budgets.
* Create detailed event proposals, contracts, and agreements, including menu selection, pricing, and terms.
* Coordinate with kitchen, bar, and service staff to ensure seamless execution of events, including staff scheduling and assignments.
* Manage event timelines, setup, and breakdown, ensuring that all aspects of the event run smoothly and efficiently.
* Provide exceptional customer service and support throughout the event planning process, addressing client inquiries and requests promptly and professionally.
* Collaborate with the marketing team to promote special events and generate sales leads.
* Conduct site visits and tours for prospective clients, showcasing the restaurant\'s facilities and capabilities.
* Maintain an event calendar, booking schedule, and availability for private functions, ensuring maximum utilization of event spaces.
* Track sales and revenue goals for special events and private dining, reporting performance to management.
Qualifications
* Previous experience in event planning, hospitality management, or related field.
* Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to manage multiple events simultaneously.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-centric mindset.
* Detail-oriented and resourceful, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
* Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as required by the demands of the job.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and event management software is preferred.

Wages: Based on Restaurant Industry Award 2025 Standards:
* Full-Time: Salary based on a minimum of 38 hours per week. Holiday and personal leave accrued pro-rata, with salary determined by the level of experience.
