Overview

Admin HR - Alice Springs. Come and join a progressive organisation delivering community‑led programmes with the Northern Territory's largest Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service.

Full‑time contract: 37.5 hours per week. Salary $104,539 – $125,092 per annum. Total effective package $128,925 – $154,042.

The Payroll Team Leader is responsible for overseeing day‑to‑day operations of Payroll, ensuring that all payroll activities are processed accurately and on schedule - weekly, monthly and annually - in line with relevant legislation, the Congress Enterprise Agreement, and internal policies and procedures.


Responsibilities

* Act as the first point of contact for the payroll team, providing regular check‑ins and support.
* Work collaboratively with the Manager – Budgets and Financial Analysis to align processes and identify improvement initiatives.
* Contribute to auditing processes, compliance reporting, reconciliations and investigations of payroll queries to ensure a consistently high standard of service is delivered to Congress and its employees.


Qualifications

* Diploma level qualification in Business or Finance, or working towards a qualification, or minimum experience in a similar role.
* Experience and understanding of payroll and accounts processes, including computerised payroll systems.
* Ability to interpret industrial awards and knowledge of EEO, Occupational Health and Safety principles and superannuation.
* Excellent liaison and communication skills, with the ability to work as part of a team.
* Ability to use Microsoft Office, in particular Word or Excel.
* Ability to maintain confidentiality.
* Ability to work with limited supervision, with excellent organisational and time‑management skills.
* Willingness, ability and appropriate levels of health and fitness to travel to and work from remote locations.
