The Opportunity
You as a Country Trade Compliance Officer (Open) will be part of the Hitachi Energy business based in Lilydale, Australia. You will oversee, manage, and monitor the implementation of the governance framework for Global Trade Management at the country level. You must ensure that Business Units conduct their activities in line with this Corporate Regulation, its Annexes, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), processes, and guidelines.
How Do You Make an Impact
Take instructions from the Regional and/or Global Head of Trade Management and the Head of Global Trade Compliance.
Drive and coordinate the regional, cluster, or country-level implementation of GTM, ensuring trade compliance and efficiency.
Coordinate with the Head of Global Trade Compliance to create country-specific trade policies and procedures, where local laws or regulations require them.
Support Business Units regarding trade-related issues such as export control, customs compliance, sensitive countries, screening, etc.
Analyze trade flows and customs duty spend to identify duty savings opportunities.
Provide guidance and improvement suggestions related to trade issues; stop transactions or business with specific partners if necessary.
Update stakeholders on potential risk areas and trade issues; conduct trade reviews and audits; provide trade-related training.
Consult with the Head of Global Trade Compliance on trade compliance questions and escalate issues as needed.

Your Background
Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Trade Compliance, Export-Import, Customs Management, or related fields.
Minimum 10 years’ experience in Trade Compliance, Import/Export Compliance, Customs management, or Taxes.
Proficiency in spoken and written English.
