Overview
QBuild, a commercialised business unit of the Queensland Government, offers a Fixed Term–Temp Supervisor role in Mt Isa focused on ensuring quality, value for money and excellent customer service in QBuild delivery activities.
The position supports QBuild's ambition to strengthen Queensland's building and construction industry by coordinating maintenance activities.
Responsibilities
Produce high-quality tender and quotation documentation for building projects and prepare accurate estimates, quotations and trade packages.
Provide supervisory services for Service Maintenance, including planning and delivery of projects and supervision of office staff, field staff and subcontractors.
Coordinate delivery of high-quality condition assessment services, including inspections/surveys of building elements, construction materials and collection of suspected asbestos samples for lab testing.
Undertake inspection services including tenancy management and maintenance referrals on behalf of Government Employee Housing.
Maintain a healthy and safe work environment in compliance with human resource practices, employment equity, anti-discrimination and workplace health and safety.
Participate in and facilitate WHS audits, conduct on-site WHS inspections, ensure documentation includes safe-work method statements or risk assessments, and promote a consistent WHS approach across QBuild workplaces.
Promote QBuild products and services to existing and prospective clients, identify opportunities for new business services based on emerging economic, legislative and environmental programs.
Manage the work performance and personal conduct of staff.
Engage stakeholders effectively and understand good governance principles and compliance.
Additional Requirements
Mandatory: Current Workplace Health and Safety General Safety Induction Card.
Desirable: A construction industry-related trade qualification.
