A well-established mainstream secondary school in Regional Victoria is seeking a Head of Special Education to lead and develop its inclusive practices and oversee a dedicated team of 13 Teaching Assistants. This is a hands‐on leadership role within a supportive executive team, where inclusion is not just a policy but a priority.
The Role
* Lead and manage the Special Education department within a mainstream secondary setting
* Supervise and mentor 13 Teaching Assistants
* Support teachers in implementing differentiated and inclusive practices
* Work closely with families, external providers and leadership
* Drive compliance, documentation and individual education planning
About You
* Qualified teacher with current VIT registration
* Strong experience in Special Education within a secondary setting
* Proven leadership or team management experience
* Deep understanding of inclusion, adjustments and student wellbeing
* Excellent communication and organisational skills
