This position provides broad exposure across both obstetrics and gynaecology within a high-volume- tertiary setting and is designed to support the development of well-rounded- generalist obstetricians and gynaecologists. What you’ll be doing Mater Mothers Hospital is seeking a talented and enthusiastic senior registrar (Level 5 or 6 trainees) for a General Obstetrics & Gynaecology Advanced Trainee position. This role is ideally suited to trainees wishing to consolidate and enhance their general and advanced gynaecological surgical skills while continuing to develop comprehensive antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal care of complex pregnancies. The position recognises the increasing expectations of the modern generalist obstetrician and gynaecologist to maintain high-level general and laparoscopic surgical capability alongside strong obstetric expertise. Registrars will gain extensive experience in independent clinical and surgical practice, with appropriate consultant supervision. Gynaecology exposure includes: Colposcopy Ambulatory and general gynaecology clinics with exposure to endometriosis care and young adults care Advanced laparoscopy Hysteroscopy Fertility assessment Obstetric experience is gained within Australia’s largest maternity hospital, providing tertiary level exposure across all aspects of -high-risk- and complex obstetric care. There is also an opportunity for interested registrars to participate in the Mater Flying O&G Service, involving weeklong -gynaecology focused- rotations supporting rural and regional Queensland services. Mater Mothers Hospitals have a strong and dynamic education, audit and research program, and successful applicants will be expected to actively participate in teaching, audit, research and quality improvement activities. About you This role is ideally suited to senior registrars intending to pursue a career in general obstetrics and gynaecology and are specifically targeted at Level 5 or 6 trainees. Applicants may wish to undertake relevant Advanced Training Modules, including: Generalist Gynaecology ATM Generalist Obstetric ATM Essential Obstetrician and Gynaecologist Skills ATM Colposcopy ATM Hysteroscopy and/or Laparoscopy ATM Trainees who have completed their core training requirements are encouraged to apply.
