About The Role
Join our team as a Pharmacist – Mental Health Training Program on a full-time ongoing role working across multiple Monash Health sites.
The Mental Health Pharmacist Training Program aims to:
1. Provide a structured learning, development and support program to grow the diversity and number of allied health clinicians capable of providing high-quality care and support for Victorians with mental illness and psychological distress and their families, carers, and supporters.
2. Contribute to building a diverse and innovative mental health and wellbeing workforce.
3. Create diverse, positive, and supported career opportunities for allied health clinicians to enter into and develop within the mental health and wellbeing workforce.
4. The program is underpinned by 4 pillars: Growth learning, Reflective practice, Supervision, Self-care.
This is a two-year robust training program, working in Mental Health alongside a skilled allied health workforce. Upon completion, you will continue as part of the Monash Health Pharmacy team, with opportunities for internal grade review to acknowledge your skills and experience.
The program offers rotations within the Mental Health pharmacy teams across Monash Medical Centre, Kingston Hospital, and Casey Hospital, providing experience across the lifespan including paediatrics, youth, adult emergency, and geriatric mental health. You will have a dedicated Mental Health clinical educator pharmacist for support, and connections with graduates from the multidisciplinary team through professional development and discovery days.
You will be supported by the Mental Health Pharmacy Team Leader and the clinical educator pharmacist. Together, you will complete the program, advancing your skills in Mental Health, leadership, education, and research.
In This Important Role You Will
1. Provide best practice pharmacy services and patient-centered care through safe and professional medicines and medication advice in various mental health settings.
2. Deliver pharmacy services as part of pharmacy and interprofessional teams in diverse practice settings.

4. Develop research skills by leading a quality improvement project and submitting a manuscript for publication.
