Champion a culture of security, trust and cyber‑resilience across all layers of the bank.
The Position
Police Bank seeks to appoint an exceptional Chief Information Officer (CIO) to lead the organisation through its next phase of technology modernisation, digital uplift and enterprise transformation. As a proud member‑owned mutual bank, Police Bank is trusted by more than 75,000 members across Australia and is committed to delivering secure, intuitive, and accessible financial services that meet the evolving expectations of its community. This appointment represents a rare opportunity to shape the Bank's technology future and play a pivotal role in strengthening its service capabilities, culture and long-term sustainability.
The successful candidate will lead a broad technology portfolio spanning service delivery, infrastructure, cyber security, data governance, core banking systems, vendor management, digital member experience and transformation programs. Operating as a key strategic partner to the CEO, Executive Leadership Team and Board, the CIO will ensure the Bank maintains a resilient and compliant technology environment while enabling innovation, efficiency and improved member outcomes. They will also provide confident stewardship of complex vendor ecosystems and drive clarity, prioritisation and disciplined execution across a diverse program of work.
The Chief Information Officer will provide visionary enterprise leadership at a time of significant opportunity. They will uplift organisational capability in cloud adoption, data management, operational resilience and digital service delivery. They will ensure Police Bank continues to modernise its platforms while preserving the trust, security and member intimacy that underpin the Bank's values. The CIO will foster a contemporary technology culture grounded in accountability, psychological safety, strong partnerships and enterprise thinking, while building a high‑performing team equipped to support the Bank's current and future needs.
The ideal candidate will bring a record of successful executive technology leadership within financial services, ideally including experience in mutual banking, retail banking or regulated environments. They will demonstrate deep expertise in service delivery, cyber security, digital transformation, cloud strategies, data governance and vendor management. Commercial acumen, sound judgement and the ability to influence and inspire at every level will be essential. Equally important is a leadership style defined by humility, curiosity, collaboration and a strong commitment to member outcomes. This is a career‑defining opportunity for a strategic and people‑centred technology executive to steward a trusted institution into its next era.
The Organisation
Police Bank started way back in the early 1960s. A smart group of police officers had the idea of forming a mutual organisation for the benefit of all police.
It is an Australian, member-owned mutual bank where profits are returned to members in the form of better interest rates, products and services, including home loans, personal loans, savings accounts, term deposits, financial planning, insurance, direct debits, periodical payments, budgeting tools, and online/mobile banking.
Today the Bank services current and former employees, as well as their families and friends, of the NSW Police Force, Australian Federal Police, Tasmanian Police, Emergency Management Australia, Corrective Services NSW, Australian Courts, and various other law enforcement and associated services.
Police Bank is a member of The Customer Owned Banking Association (COBA) and is supervised by the Australian Prudential Regulation Authority (APRA).
