Carer Support Coordinator Role Overview
This position coordinates and leads the implementation of Carer Support Program policies, guidelines, and strategies within agreed boundaries in the Mid North Coast Local Health District.
The role involves face-to-face group work with carers, consultancy to staff and service providers on policy and best practice relating to carers, and increasing support for carers, raising awareness of carers' needs and changing attitudes towards carers within the health system.
* Current registration with relevant professional boards (Occupational Therapy Board of Australia, Psychology Board of Australia, Nurses and Midwives Board of Australia, Physiotherapist Board of Australia)
* Sound understanding and demonstrated experience of working with carers
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the implementation of Carer Support Program policies and strategies
* Coordinate face-to-face group work with carers
* Provide consultancy services to staff and service providers on carer-related policy and best practice
* Increase support for carers and raise awareness of their needs
