Overview
GCA is a leading independent higher education provider. We are seeking expressions of interest for casual - and potentially fractional or full-time - lecturers to teach across our MBA (IT Management major) and forthcoming Master of Information Technology programs.
What We're Looking For
We seek tertiary educators with a passion for teaching and a commitment to student success. Ideal candidates will have:
Essential Criteria
* PhD in Information Technology or Information Systems
* Minimum three (3) years of tertiary teaching experience (face‑to‑face and online)
* Minimum 3 years of higher education teaching experience required
* Proven curriculum development and teaching experience in IT/IS subject areas
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and proficiency with educational technologies and LMS platforms
* Considerable experience working with international student cohorts
* Experience with academic administration, including compliance, assessment management, and student support.
Desirable Criteria
* Graduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education or equivalent
* Experience teaching in AI & Machine Learning, Cyber Security, and other IT areas
* Strong understanding of scholarship within private higher education
* Demonstrated commitment to excellence in learning and teaching
* Recognised national or international research achievement
* Capacity for academic leadership in relevant disciplines
* Evidence of ongoing professional development in education and technology and/or relevant industry experience
* Eligibility to work in Australia (or eligibility for visa sponsorship)
* Active engagement with a professional organisation (e.g. ACS)
Key Responsibilities
* Deliver interactive and inspiring lectures and tutorials using contemporary teaching methods, both in-person and online synchronous (for lecturing component).
* Provide structured learning experiences and timely student feedback to support academic growth and in the marking of assessments.
* Contribute to curriculum development and assessment.
* Efficiently utilise the Learning Management Systems (LMS) and other technologies for content management, program delivery and to enhance flexible learning.
* Maintain compliance with TEQSA and organisational academic standards and policies.
