The Role
An opportunity has become available for a/several Psychologist/Neuropsychologist – Advanced (Intellectual Disability and Neurodevelopmental Disorders Consultation Liaison Psychiatry) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
Provide advanced level, specialised psychological, neuropsychological and developmental services
Provide clinical leadership, high level consultation and expert counsel
Manage a dual diagnosis Outpatient Clinic specialising in psychological and neuropsychological assessment
Apply advanced interpersonal skills including negotiation, advocacy and conflict management
About You
To be successful in this position you will require:
A tertiary degree in Psychology
AHPRA Registration
A postgraduate qualification within a relevant specialty will be highly regarded
Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

About Us
The position will provide advanced clinical services, leadership and direction within the interprofessional team of Child Health and Child and Youth Mental Health Services (CYMHS) and lead the clinical interface between Child Development Services and CYMHS supporting young people with moderate to severe mental health challenges comorbid with an intellectual disability and / or neurodevelopmental disorder. Clinical activities include assessment, diagnostic formulation, brief intervention, leadership in the development of positive behaviour support plans, and support for case coordination of the primary treating team and community services discharge support.
This position will lead service improvement, education, training and research activities to support contemporary service delivery and leadership of child health, CYMHS and MHSS staff. The position reports operationally to the CYMHS Access Team Leader and professionally to the Director of Psychology.
