Assets and workshop coordinator

Devonport
Don River Railway
Posted: 26 April
Offer description

Please note: This is a part-time position (0.6 to 0.8 FTE). The actual take-home salary is $48,000 to $80,000 per annum plus superannuation, which represents a full-time equivalent (FTE) package of $80,000 to $100,000.

About the Opportunity

Backed by a $13 million Federal funding commitment for a major precinct expansion, Don River Railway (DRR) is transitioning into a new era of robust governance and operational excellence.

The Role

The Asset Coordinator is a critical leadership role responsible for the overarching management, maintenance, and restoration of all physical assets at DRR. Aligned with our Strategic Plan, a primary objective of this role is to design, document, and implement robust operational procedures across all workshop and asset management areas.

Crucially, this is an administrative, planning, and management-focused role, rather than a primarily manual mechanical position. The Asset Coordinator is responsible for ensuring 100% completion of necessary due diligence, project planning, and oversight. By effectively coordinating a diverse volunteer and contractor workforce, controlling budgets, and preparing asset lifecycles for the upcoming precinct expansion, this role is essential to ensuring the continuous, safe operation of the railway and setting the incoming General Manager up for success.

Key Requirements

* Minimum of 5+ years' experience in asset management or similar coordination roles.
* Experience managing project budgets is essential for this role.
* Volunteer management experience is essential, as the role requires coordinating a diverse volunteer workforce.
