Our client, a highly respected specialist based at The Wesley Hospital is seeking an experienced and motivated
Medical Secretary
to join their team on a full-time permanent basis. The practice is led by a senior specialist with advanced subspecialty expertise in Interventional Endoscopy and appointments across both private practice and a major tertiary public hospital in Brisbane.

The practice is well established within a collaborative specialist group and is recognised for delivering high-quality, patient-centred care within a busy and professional clinical environment.

This is an excellent opportunity to support a highly specialised practice within one of Brisbane's leading private hospitals.

Key duties and responsibilities will include (but not be limited to):

* Managing all incoming phone calls, emails and general patient enquiries, ensuring timely and professional responses to patients and other medical professionals
* Liaising confidently and courteously with patients, specialists, hospitals and third-party providers
* Coordinating and administering all aspects of patient clinics
* Accurately processing inpatient and outpatient billing
* Managing patient consents, procedure bookings and pre-operative arrangements
* Typing and preparing general medical correspondence
* Providing general administrative and secretarial support as required

Skills And Experience Required For This Position Will Include

* Minimum 3–5 years' experience as a Medical Secretary or Medical Typist, ideally within a private specialist practice
* Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office and medical practice management software (experience with Blue Chip will be highly regarded)
* Fast, accurate and reliable medical transcription skills
* Highly developed organisational, time-management and interpersonal skills
* Clear, professional communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with practitioners, patients and staff at all levels within a healthcare setting

You will bring a comprehensive background in medical administration, demonstrating strong written and verbal communication skills, a high level of attention to detail and the ability to work autonomously while effectively prioritising and multitasking in a busy clinical environment.

Remuneration
An attractive hourly rate of
$38–$42 per hour + superannuation
will be offered to the successful candidate, commensurate with recent and relevant skills and experience.
