The Role
The Solicitor in the Statewide Child Protection Litigation Office (Statewide CPLO) provides legal services including advice, support, and representation for child protection cases. Responsibilities include appearing and conducting litigation in courts such as the Children's Court of Victoria, Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT), and related jurisdictions.
You will work mainly with one of the legal teams in Statewide CPLO and will travel to various Children's Court locations and child protection offices.
Accountabilities
* Represent the Secretary in child protection matters in the Children's Court and VCAT.
* Manage allocated child protection litigation files with supervision, including client liaison and negotiations.
* Provide legal advice, briefings, and correspondence.
