Compliance Officer Job Description

We are seeking a Compliance Officer to ensure adherence to federal and state laws, assess organizational risks, and maintain patient and customer data security.

Job Responsibilities:

* Assist in internal reviews, research, and audits to verify compliance with government laws, client requirements, accreditations, and organizational policies.
* Document findings and organize data for potential risk area identification.
* Stay informed of applicable rule and regulation changes in the healthcare and pharmaceutical industries.
* Assist in day-to-day operations of the Document Management System and Learning Management System.
* Coordinate with departments to review and revise documents within specified timeframes.
* Ensure attention to detail, organization skills, excellent proofreading skills, prompt response to action items, and ability to handle change.
* Perform document control functions, including tracking, processing, review, formatting, distribution, and archiving of documents.
* Evaluate document organization, proofread, and provide quality checks before document finalization.
* Assist in third-party audit reviews and management.
* Verify compliance with insurer rules, Medicare, Medicaid, HIPAA, and other regulations.
* Assist in Incident Management and CAPA process.
* Conduct enterprise-wide Risk Assessment.
* Receive, investigate, and resolve compliance and privacy-related complaints or concerns.
* Maintain Compliance & Privacy logs as required.
* Assist in training efforts and initiatives, including preparation of materials and presenting training through various methods.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

* Bachelor's Degree from a four-year college or university, or one to two years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
* CHC or other relevant certifications preferred.
* Computer skills: Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Visio. Experience with Jira Service Desk a plus.
* High degree of emotional intelligence.
* Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
* Collaborates with colleagues as one team.
* Assumes positive intent in others.
* Makes commitments and keeps commitments.
* Advanced problem-solving and decision-making skills.
* Takes initiative to plan milestones, track progress, and prioritize workload.
* Flexible, detail-oriented team player with proven success in a fast-paced environment.
* Strong attention to detail with the ability to work effectively under pressure.
