Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Communications and Public Relations Coordinator to join our Marketing team. This role is ideal for individuals with a passion for animal welfare and a background in communications strategy, journalism or public relations.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing effective communications strategies, creating engaging content and collaborating with various stakeholders to achieve impactful brand exposure.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and implement communications strategies that align with the organization's goals and objectives.
* Create high-quality written content, including copywriting and copy editing assistance for various communications and campaigns.
* Assist with media relations, responding to media opportunities and initiating proactive outreach efforts.
* Manage media monitoring, producing regular reports and ensuring media lists are up-to-date.
* Coordinate project management tasks and ensure seamless execution of projects.
* Collaborate with the Multimedia Production Specialist to create engaging visual content and story documentation.
Requirements:
* At least 2 years' experience in communications strategy, journalism or public relations, including communications planning and media relations.
* Tertiary qualification in communications, public relations, marketing, journalism or similar field.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including copywriting, creative storytelling and proofreading.
* Strong time management and organisational skills to balance multiple competing priorities and deadlines.
* Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and Microsoft Office Suite, as well as Microsoft Teams/Zoom.
* A genuine interest in animal welfare and the organisation's mission.
Working Conditions:
* This is a full-time, permanent position working 38 hours per week.
* Remuneration is commensurate with skills, qualifications and experience.
