Registered Nurse - Medical & Emergency | Moranbah Hospital, QLD
About the Role
Moranbah Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse (Grade 5) to work across the Medical Ward and Emergency Department. This role offers a unique prospect to gain diverse rural nursing experience in a busy healthcare setting, including exposure to acute inpatient care, emergency services, outpatient clinics, and telehealth services.
Mandatory Experience
- Rural nursing experience
- Emergency nursing experience
- Ability to work across both Medical Ward and Emergency
Desirable Experience
- Knowledge of ieMR and proficiency in using electronic medical records
- Familiarity with First Net, Power Chart, HBCIS
- Previous experience working in Australia, QLD Health, or Mackay HHS
Mandatory Competencies
- BLS and ALS competency
- Emergency Triage Education Kit (ETEK)
- Manual and patient handling
- Infection control
- Aggressive behaviour management
- Mandatory reporting for suspected child abuse or neglect
- Medication management including QPHS (Drugs and Poisons) Regulations November 2012
- Ability to undertake any required HHS training, including ieMR and online inductions
Contract Details
- Start Date: 29th September 2025
- End Date: 9th November 2025
- Duration: 6 weeks
- Working Hours: As per roster, rotating 8 and 12-hour shifts
- Max Hours per Fortnight: 80 hours (overtime applies after 80 hours)
- Facility: Moranbah Hospital, Moranbah, QLD
