Overview
NSW Health Central Coast, New South Wales, Australia. This Social Work Child and Family service position is a permanent full-time role within an interdisciplinary team based at Gosford Community Health Centre, located in the Gateway Centre, Gosford. From time to time, the position will also work from other CCLHD Community Health Facilities. The role involves delivering social work services to children and their families, conducting psycho-social assessments, providing therapeutic social work counselling, and working alongside parents, children and families to foster healthy and secure relationships and improve overall family functioning. The position will involve case coordination, individual and family counselling/therapy, group work, facilitating referrals to partner services, collaboration with interdisciplinary colleagues, and contribution to service development, evaluation, and staff education.
Responsibilities
* Deliver social work services to children and families to achieve optimal health outcomes, including psycho-social assessments and therapeutic counselling.
* Provide supports that help foster healthy and secure relationships and improve overall family functioning.
* Engage in case coordination, individual and family counselling/therapy, group work, and facilitating referrals to partner services.
* Collaborate with interdisciplinary colleagues and senior managers within CCLHD Child and Family Health service.
* Contribute to service development, evaluation, and education for staff and students.
Qualifications
* Tertiary qualifications in Social Work with eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) or AASW Overseas Assessment number for overseas qualifications.
* Demonstrated understanding of the current AASW Practice Standards as they relate to the Social Worker Level 1/2 - Child and Family Health position.
* Strong interest in advancing therapeutic counselling skills, collaboration with parents and families, and experience with brief or longer-term interventions and group work.
* Understanding of psycho-social and attachment issues relevant to child development.
