Are you passionate about the horse racing and events industry? Do you thrive in fast-paced, dynamic environments where no two days are the same? We're looking for enthusiastic, professional and flexible individuals to be part of the team delivering the iconic Melbourne Cup Carnival at Flemington Place.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Gaming Attendant supports the daily operations of Headquarters Tavern (HQT) by delivering outstanding customer service across bar, gaming, and event areas. This entry-level role plays a key part in creating a welcoming, safe, and enjoyable environment for patrons, while upholding VRC's values and compliance standards.

FOCUS

Customer Service & Experience

o Greet and assist patrons in a friendly and professional manner.

o Provide efficient service across bar, gaming, and event areas.

o Respond to customer enquiries and escalate issues as needed.

o Maintain cleanliness and presentation of venue spaces.

Operational Support

o Follow daily task lists and instructions from supervisors.

o Assist with stock replenishment, basic cash handling, and venue setup.

o Support event delivery through preparation and pack-down activities.

o Report maintenance or safety concerns promptly.

Compliance & Safety

o Adhere to Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) and Responsible Gambling (RSG) guidelines.

o Follow all workplace health and safety procedures.

o Maintain awareness of venue policies and emergency protocols.

Teamwork & Culture

o Work collaboratively with team members to achieve service goals.

o Participate in team briefings and training sessions.

o Contribute to a positive, respectful, and inclusive workplace.

ABOUT YOU

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

o Significant management experience in the hospitality industry - combining Food and Beverage, Gaming and Wagering.

o Dynamic, confident and experienced in developing, managing and driving a team to achieve agreed targets

o Ability to support and lead by example, motivating and driving a positive culture.

o Demonstrated high level of customer service.

o Contribute to a positive and respectful team environment that values open communication, creative collaboration, and mutual support.

o Manage workload effectively, with guidance from leaders, to maintain a healthy balance between high-quality creative output and personal wellbeing.

o Support an inclusive workplace where diverse perspectives are valued, and feedback is encouraged, constructive, and solution focused.

Qualifications Required

o Current Victorian Responsible Service of Alcohol Certificate (RSA).

o Current Victorian Responsible Service of Gaming Certificate (RSG).

o Current Victorian Gaming Employee Licence.

o TAB accreditation.

All Victorian gaming qualifications, including RSA, RSG, Gaming Employee Licence, and TAB accreditation must be held at the time of application.
