Parking Operations is seeking expressions of interest (EOI) to fill an Administrative Services Officer Class three (ASO3) Parking Compliance Officer role commencing in the new year. A merit pool will be established from this EOI and may be used to fill similar short-term opportunities over the following 12 months.

This diverse regulatory compliance role will build skills and experience in an operational environment and increase your regulatory compliance knowledge.

As a Parking Compliance Officer, it is important to consider what information helps drivers comply with the parking rules. Having the skills and confidence to manage sometimes tricky conversations with drivers about their parking, while maintaining a positive customer service approach, is crucial.

Eligibility/Other requirements:

* Must be eligible to be appointed as an Authorised Person under the Road Transport (General) Act 1999, successful applicants:
* Must be an Australian citizen or a permanent resident of Australia.
* Please submit a copy of your Australian birth certificate or Australian Citizenship Certificate or current Australian passport or a valid Permanent Resident visa supported by a foreign passport.
* This position requires employees to have and maintain a current full "C" class driver's licence, with a driving record that aligns with our commitment to road safety.
* Experience with Microsoft Office programs and the ability to work on applications on a smartphone is desirable.

Notes: This is a temporary position available immediately for a period of up to six months. This position is available to ACT Government officers and employees only.

A merit pool will be established from this selection process and may be used to fill other short-term vacancies over the next 12 months. Selection may be based on application and referee reports only.

You must meet the eligibility criteria for an Authorised Person as mentioned in the position description.

This position involves predominantly in-field compliance activities, where you will patrol assigned areas on foot and/or by motor vehicle.

Office-based administration and compliance duties are also required.

Being available for a reasonable amount of additional hours to support service delivery and compliance monitoring activities is expected.

City and Environment

City and Environment Directorate was established on the 1 July 2025. This new directorate is an amalgamation of positions previously advertised under Environment, Planning and Sustainable Development Directorate and Transport Canberra and City Services Directorate.
