The Woolworths Format Development Team is a national team of 1,000, responsible for innovating and developing retail stores of the future across supermarkets, Metro & Big W. **The role
We are currently seeking a Food Academy Lead Trainer to be part of the Food Academy & Format Development teams across Australia. Reporting to the Food Academy State Training Manager, you will be responsible for a team of trainers who coach, train and mentor in-store team members. You will partner Store Operations to build capability in customer service, food knowledge and retail excellence.
**In the role, your responsibilities will be:
- Line manager responsibility for up to 8 trainers
- Build the store-wide training plan in collaboration with the Store Manager for each Renewal and New store project
- Providing coaching, training and mentoring in customer service, fresh food and retail excellence, ensuring improvements in success of the teams you coach
- Lead with Agile mindset and ways of working
- Delivering classroom style training, workshops and 1:1, side by side coaching and mentoring
- Full implementation of the Renewal blueprint in store
- Supporting the teams to get the department ready for relaunch across all Renewal dimensions, i.e.store environment, operating model, people,product, marketing, financial.
- Support during the Renewal period from implementing Fit for Renewal actions, through disruption, training and relaunch prep, to post launch
- Continuous development of what good looks like in ways of working, with a strong feedback loop to the support organisation
- Trainer development through upskill sessions, 1:1 coaching & individualised sessions
- Majority of the time will be spent working closely with store leadership teams, including store Renewal Manager, State Renewal Manager & Operations
- Travelling across a broad range of stores in NSW.
**Who we're looking for:
- You will have the ability to set a clear vision and easily articulate and engage your team.
- Naturally you will have a strong passion for developing people through skill building, coaching, motivating and teaching
- You will be a proactive, solutions focused leader in your field and have the ability to instill best practice whilst displaying core behavioural skills such as humility, modesty and empathy
- Forward thinking and have the ability to have challenging conversations and be able to make decisions in ways of working upwards and sideways in the organisation
- A strong depth of experience and understanding of in store operations
- You possess strong initiative and stakeholder management skills to build and foster positive relationships, teamed with a strong vision and drive coupled with a cooperative and collaborative approach towards leaders, peers and team members
- You may have been a Food Academy Trainer or a leader within store operations looking for the next step. Experience in these roles would be highly regarded
- There is a strong travel component for this role that may see you travel to stores across NSW and work some weekends depending on store needs.
