WA Venues Pty Ltd Chef – Full Time Chandler's Kitchen is a well-established family-owned café and licensed restaurant located on the beautiful Rockingham Foreshore, Western Australia. Known for our fresh, high-quality food, exceptional customer service, and welcoming dining experience, we serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner while also providing catering and private function services. Due to continued business growth, we are seeking an experienced Chef to join our team and help maintain our high standards of food quality and kitchen operations.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan, prepare, and cook a variety of breakfast, lunch, and dinner dishes in accordance with established recipes and quality standards
* Ensure all meals are prepared and presented to a consistently high standard, maintaining quality, taste, and portion control
* Assist in menu planning, seasonal specials, and dietary-specific offerings to meet customer preferences
* Monitor food quality throughout preparation and service to ensure customer satisfaction
* Coordinate kitchen operations during service periods to ensure efficient workflow and timely delivery of meals
* Supervise and support kitchen staff, providing guidance on food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen procedures
* Monitor stock levels, order supplies, and ensure proper storage, stock rotation, and inventory control
* Minimise food wastage and assist in controlling food and labour costs
* Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety standards
* Maintain a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment at all times
* Assist with catering services, private functions, and special events hosted by the venue
* Collaborate with management to improve menu offerings, kitchen efficiency, and overall dining experience
Requirements
* Minimum 1 year of experience as a Chef in a commercial kitchen environment
* Relevant qualification in Commercial Cookery, Kitchen Management, or a related discipline, or equivalent industry experience
* Experience preparing café-style, restaurant, or modern Australian cuisine
* Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, menu execution, and food presentation
* Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced breakfast, lunch, and dinner service environment
* Experience supervising or supporting kitchen staff and contributing to a positive team culture
* Sound understanding of food safety regulations, hygiene practices, and workplace health and safety requirements
* Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
* Experience with stock control, ordering, and inventory management is desirable
* Availability to work weekends, public holidays, and evening shifts as required
* Positive attitude, reliability, and a commitment to delivering high-quality food and excellent customer service
