OverviewThe Mike Reynolds Early Childhood Centre is a community-based, not-for-profit centre overseen by a management committee and is located in North Ward in beautiful tropical Townsville.
We currently have an exciting Part time chance for an experienced Cook/Chef to join our centre, working Monday to Friday during office hours.ResponsibilitiesPrepare nutritious and well-balanced meals for approximately 65 children daily.Plan weekly menus that adhere to dietary guidelines and accommodate any allergies or special dietary needs.Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment, ensuring all food safety and hygiene standards are met.Monitor and manage kitchen inventory, placing orders as needed and within allocated budget, to ensure consistent supply of fresh ingredients.Build and maintain positive relationships with children, families, educators, staff and management.Qualifications & ExperienceProven experience as a cook, preferably in a childcare or similar setting.Knowledge of nutrition and dietary requirements for children.Food safety supervisor certificate.Certificate in safe food handling.Valid working with children check, or ability to obtain (blue card)Proven ability in all areas of cookery including menu planning, meeting nutritional guidelines and working within budgets.Positive and inclusive work culture with supportive management.Monday - Friday work week with great work/life balance and possibility to work school hoursPotential gap free childcareImmediate startWork for a highly respected community-based, not-for-profit centre located a 1 minute walk to the strand!
