Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Third Engineer to join our team. As a Third Engineer, you will be responsible for the maintenance of critical systems including fuel and lube oil purification, boiler maintenance, feed water control, compressed air machinery, and domestic services.
You will be working on a cement carrier vessel based in the Bass Strait, reporting directly to the First Engineer. Your duties will include:
1. Safe operation of the main engine in accordance with Class and Standing Orders;
2. Safe operation of the boiler in accordance with Class and Standing Orders;
3. Performing day work in conjunction with a rotating 24 hour system of Gear Turn, including fuel and lube oil purifiers, air compressors, boiler, and boiler feed water control as directed;
4. Any other duties as required.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* 12 months relevant experience in a related role, including at least 36 weeks of sea service on vessels with propulsion power ≥750 kilowatts;
* Hold or be eligible to obtain a Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC);
* Australian Citizen or unlimited Australian Working Rights;
* Living in Australia;
Certificate of Safety Training (STCW) and Work Safely at Heights Certification are desirable but not essential.
