Kawana Private Hospital is seeking a passionate and experienced Clinical Nurse Manager – Operating Theatres to lead and support our dynamic perioperative team on a full-time basis.

Kawana Private Hospital is an accredited, multi-disciplinary facility offering four modern operating theatres and a surgical ward for patients requiring extended recovery. We deliver a broad range of surgical services and are committed to best-practice standards through continuous improvement, ongoing education, and a strong focus on staff wellbeing and work–life balance.
Our facility operates Monday to Friday, with hours that may vary according to operational requirements.
About the Role
As the Clinical Nurse Manager – Operating Theatres, you will provide clinical leadership and operational oversight of the theatre suite while working hands-on alongside the perioperative team. This is a key leadership role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is committed to delivering high-quality intraoperative care.
This position is not a standard 9–5 role, and flexibility is essential to meet the needs of the service.
About You
The successful candidate will have:
* Extensive experience as a Theatre Nurse across a variety of surgical specialties
* Demonstrated leadership and management experience in a perioperative setting including the capacity or working towards to initiate and support change within a team framework.
* A contemporary, enthusiastic approach to delivering high-quality patient care
* Strong clinical skills and a willingness to work alongside the theatre team
* Excellent communication, organisational, and team-building skills
* A commitment to continuous improvement and staff development

Essential criteria
* Current AHPRA nursing registration
* Post graduate qualification nursing and/or working towards a tertiary qualification in management
* 2-5 years in senior nursing or management positions desirable
* Working knowledge of Industrial Relations Acts, regulations and other relevant statutory obligations
* Knowledge of contemporary risk management strategies which are effective in promoting and ensuring safe patient care
* Knowledge of the regulation of health care professionals
* Knowledge of ISO 9001 Accreditation
* Understanding of contemporary clinical practice
* Skills in project management and implementation
* Knowledge of health funding models and arrangements pertaining to private/public health sectors
* Knowledge of the ANMC Competency standards for Registered Nurses
* Demonstrated ability to manage the budgeting process regarding human and material resources is desirable
