Process Engineer / Metallurgist
8/6 Site-Based Roster
We are seeking a highly capable Process Engineer / Metallurgist to join the the operations team looking at improving productivity of the plant. We are seeking a switched-on, site-focused engineer who can step straight into supporting production engineering activities.
This role is firmly focused on steady-state production engineering, with a strong emphasis on improving plant productivity, throughput, and operational efficiency rather than product grade or quality. You will be embedded in site operations, working closely with production teams to deliver measurable performance improvements.
Key Responsibilities
* Support day-to-day plant operations to ensure stable, efficient, and reliable production
* Identify, develop, and implement plant productivity and throughput improvements
* Analyse operational data to identify bottlenecks, losses, and improvement opportunities
* Conduct troubleshooting and root cause analysis to resolve plant performance issues
* Monitor process performance and provide practical, site-based engineering solutions
* Work closely with production, maintenance, and operations teams to deliver outcomes
* Provide clear technical input to support operational decision-making
About You
You are a hands-on, operationally focused engineer or metallurgist who has demonstrated success improving plant productivity in a mining or mineral processing environment. You enjoy working on site, engaging with operators, and turning data and observations into real-world improvements.
Qualifications & Experience
* Bachelor's degree in Metallurgy, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline
* 2-6 years' experience in process engineering, production engineering, or plant metallurgy
* Proven experience in improving plant productivity, throughput, or equipment utilisation
* Previous site-based operational experience in mining or mineral processing
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a practical mindset
* Proactive, adaptable, and able to work effectively in a production-focused environment
