Senior Medical Officer (Rural Generalist with Advanced Skills Training) - MAREEBA

We are seeking an enthusiastic Rural Generalist to join our team in tropical North Queensland. Mareeba Hospital is a 40-bed Level 3 facility servicing the Mareeba District with a large Indigenous population. Our case load includes emergency presentations with trauma and acute illnesses, care of inpatients including paediatrics and a general practice outpatient clinic.
Mareeba is a one hour drive from Cairns and is located on the Atherton Tablelands with a population of approximately 10,500 people. The town has a multicultural heritage, with beautiful fresh produce, scenic mountain bike riding, bird watching, various wineries and several coffee plantations.

Purpose of the Role
Working at the Mareeba Hospital, you will contribute as a dynamic Senior Medical Officer with advanced skills in Obstetrics, Anaesthetics or Emergency, providing high-quality clinical care to hospital in-patients and patients at rural clinics. You will assist the Director of Medical Services, Mareeba Hospital in developing safe medical practice and optimizing clinical skills for medical and nursing staff.
You will provide a high standard of care for patients and their families, contributing to improving the health of the local population. An opportunity to become part of a dedicated multidisciplinary team, striving to grow a health service exceeding in healthcare, research and teaching.
