About The Role
Working within the Bayside Peninsula Integrated Family Services team, you will play a key role in promoting the safety, stability and development of children, young people and their families. You will deliver evidence-based interventions through a tailored, family-centred case management approach, responding to risk and vulnerability with a whole-of-family focus.
In this role, you will work collaboratively with families to support children and young people up to 18 years of age who may be experiencing complex and interconnected challenges, including trauma, school refusal, family violence and involvement with multiple service systems (such as NDIS). This is a diverse and fast-paced role, requiring sound judgement, responsiveness and the ability to act decisively to address risk.
In this contracted role until 31st March 2027, you will work alongside a caring and collaborative team, based in the Good Shepherd Hastings office, with frequent outreach and engagement across the peninsula.
Key Responsibilities
* Strengthen parenting capacity, confidence and skills to support positive outcomes for children and young people
* Enhance the wellbeing of children, young people and their families through culturally responsive, client-centred practice
* Prevent child abuse and neglect through early intervention and timely, targeted support
* Support families through significant life transitions and periods of crisis, maintaining a focus on safety and stability
* Work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary and multi-system environment, including participation in care team, school and stakeholder meetings
About you
* Tertiary qualification in Social Work, Psychology, or related discipline such as nursing, early childhood or child protection
* Experience in child protection, child and family services, or working within a best interests framework
* Sound understanding of systems theory and trauma-informed practice
* A persistent and strengths-based practitioner who actively advocates for children, young people and families
* Ability to work collaboratively as part of a care team and broader service network to deliver wrap-around support
* Experience working with The Orange Door is highly regarded
