Overview
BD is seeking a Field Services Engineer WA to provide software and hardware support for BD ROWA, Alaris Infusion Systems and Pyxis to our retail pharmacy, central pharmacy and hospital customers respectively, across Western and South Australia. The role includes remote support and diagnostics, field repairs, preventative maintenance, performance testing and electrical safety testing of company related electro-medical equipment. Travel is a key requirement within the role and candidates must be flexible and willing to travel interstate as needed for success in this role.
Responsibilities
* Ensure timely diagnosis of system errors and customers issues resolved promptly.
* Ensure software levels of equipment are current.
* Ensure product repair turnaround goals are achieved.
* Provide technical sales support, including performing workflow and system reviews as part of the implementation process.
* Perform routine and breakdown maintenance as required.
* Plan, schedule and communicate Preventative Maintenance visits and breakdown visits to fit in with the customers' requirements. Comply with Preventative Maintenance, service agreement and support SOPs.
* Monitor cases between Service Desk and customer for assigned sites. Escalate and manage as required.
* Retrieve technical information from devices and servers to assist with support cases.
* Use established tools to ensure all devices are kept updated with the latest Antivirus files and Microsoft Security Patches according to policy.
* Advise and maintain cooperative working relationships with Account Managers, Product Managers, Project Managers and contractors.
* Escalate to Project Manager and Regional Service Manager of any potential issues, customer complaints or tasks requiring special skills or resources.
* Identify potential sales/contract opportunities and communicate as appropriate.
* Document all work (accurate and up to date) carried out in relation to repairs, preventative maintenance, calibration, performance and electrical safety testing.
Qualifications and Skills
* Strong fault-finding, diagnostic and repair experience (Essential).
* Strong technical knowledge, interpersonal/negotiation skills, time management, and ability to direct and support as appropriate.
* Ability to identify potential issues/complaints and escalate as appropriate.
* Preferably a restricted electrical license.
* Strong customer communication skills and management of customer expectations.
* Ability to complete technical repairs and upgrades to electro-medical equipment.
* Self-motivated with the ability to work effectively alone and without direct supervision.
* Minimum education requirements: Electronics/Computing Trades Certificate or Engineering certificate; understanding of computers and assigned software.
