**About the role**
The Associate Director, Capital Projects is responsible for overseeing the Project Management Office function to deliver critical built infrastructure projects as part of the University's Capital Investment Plan and minor works program.
This position leads a small team of project management professionals, ensuring projects are delivered on-time, within budget and within brief with strict adherence to delegations, policies, processes and best practice industry standards. This is a 5-year fixed-term contract.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Development, implementation and review of the University's annual Capital Development Program 
- All facets of project / program delivery including ensuring effective management and control of all phases 
- Reporting on all facets of projects and programs including the development of reporting systems 
- Drafting of committee papers 
- Financial management (budget, forecasting etc.) and control 
- Participation in tenders, PCGs and other capital project related meetings 
- Ensuring statutory and regulatory compliance 
- Contracts management 
- High level stakeholder management skills 
- Act as primary source for advice on project management and construction
Reporting to and working closely with the Director, Capital Program & Master Planning, this position will further develop the existing Project Management Office function, ensuring robust processes, controls and systems are in place with emphasis on good-governance and accurate reporting.
**About the person**
You will possess:
- Extensive experience in delivery of a program in a senior project manager or program manager role in a large and complex facilities environment. 
- Strategic development and implementation of successful and sustainable capital projects initiatives 
- Proven experience in people management 
- High level experience in and comprehensive knowledge of property and building regulatory requirements, procurement, planning, construction law and project / program management 
- Excellent interpersonal skills, organisational, negotiation and change management skills 
- Demonstrated ability to prepare high quality reports and policy documents
