Job Description
The Consultant Psychiatrist is responsible for assessing and managing adult patients with major mental illnesses or psychological challenges. They will work closely with patients, families, and the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement treatment plans that cater to individual needs.
Conduct comprehensive medical and psychiatric assessments
Develop and implement treatment plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team
Provide leadership and guidance to junior staff members
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and audit processes
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
A Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Psychiatrists (FRANZCP) or equivalent
Proven leadership skills and experience in mental health
Ability to work collaboratively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals
Capacity to teach and supervise junior staff members
Knowledge of evidence-based medicine and quality improvement principles
