Primary objective
As Project Officer, assist with delivery of works programs in the civil construction, maintenance and asset management areas
to meet client requirements in relation to time, cost and quality.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Conduct asset inspections and assist with the preparation of project proposals, technical reports, estimate of
costs, contract documentation, procurement and contract administration/supervision documentation.
2. Supervise record and report on contract works with regards to the construction and maintenance of the road and
transport asset networks, in accordance with contract documents and departmental WHS, EEO and environmental
guidelines.
1. Identify, determine scope and prepare work programs for period contracts.
2. Prepare technical specifications for tender purposes.
3. Assist the nominated Project Managers to deliver assigned Repairs and Maintenance, and New Works.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. A relevant qualification awarded by an Australian Institution, or equivalent, or relevant experience in a field of technical
work closely related to the duties of the vacancy.
1. Good written and oral communication skills including the ability to prepare design, procurement and project
management documentation.
3. Demonstrated abilities in project management and contract administration.
4. Good information technology skills including work processing and spreadsheet software as well as project management
tools.
1. Good knowledge of road and civil industry construction and maintenance techniques and practices, including roads and
transport assets; and best practice environmental management.
6. Current NT drivers licence or equivalent.
7. An ability to interact effectively with people of diverse cultures.
Desirable:
1. Certificate IV in Government Procurement.
2. Good knowledge of business management and business drivers in a commercial environment.
