About This Role
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Formwork Carpenter to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for examining drawings and specifications to determine material quantities, preparing and erecting framework and formwork to civil structures, footings, slabs, trench drains, lift pits, culverts, pavements, etc.
Main Responsibilities:
* Examine drawings and specifications to determine material quantities.
* Prepare and erect framework and formwork to civil structures, footings, slabs, trench drains, lift pits, culverts, pavements, etc.
* Prepare preliminary sketches and ongoing work drawings.
* Calculate costs and estimate time scales in accordance with work programs.
* Acquire timbers and other materials and prepare site layouts.
* Cut timbers and other materials and assemble and nail component parts.
* Erect prepared frameworks and verify trueness of structures according to plans.
* Assemble prepared wood to form structures ready for pouring concrete slabs.
* Inspect work and materials for compliance with specifications.
* Prepare, erect and repair framework, flooring and subflooring, internal and external walls and cladding.
* Formwork erection and stripping.
* Liaison with subcontractors on company work sites.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
Qualifications:
* AQF Certificate IV or AQF Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training, or alternatively, three years of relevant experience may substitute for formal qualifications (with overseas obtained qualifications being considered where the qualification is assessed as suitable).
Experience:
* One year of work experience in the occupation or three years where applicant relies on work experience in lieu of formal qualifications.
Skillset:
* Proficiency in the English language.
* Strong understanding of workplace WHS procedures.
