**About the role**
**TAFE SA** is seeking an experienced **Database Analyst** to join our **ICT Services team**. This role is responsible for the planning, implementation, and maintenance of enterprise databases to ensure optimal performance, security, and availability. You will play a key role in system upgrades, database integrity, and disaster recovery planning, while providing technical guidance to internal stakeholders.
Your expertise in database administration, technical infrastructure, and problem-solving will be essential in ensuring that TAFE SA's critical datastores remain operational, up to date, and optimised.
**Essential to this role**:
- Minimum 3 years' experience in Oracle Database Administration.
- High degree of mastery of Unix/Linux Administration.
- Proven ability to analyse and resolve complex database-related problems, including reading and interpreting technical documentation.
- Strong knowledge of database analysis and design principles, load testing methodologies for technical infrastructure, and project management best practices.
- Knowledge of ITIL or an equivalent framework, as well as relevant government policies and TAFE SA procedures.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently or within a team, managing multiple priorities and using sound judgement to achieve technical and operational outcomes.
**Desirable**:
- Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server is highly regarded.
- Experience with working in an Oracle Database Appliance (ODA) environment.
- Tertiary and/or industry certification(s) in information technology.

- Some out of hours work may be required
- Some intra/interstate travel and overnight absences may be required.
