Peer Support Worker (Aboriginal And Torres Strait Islander - Female) 
Location: Sunshine Coast, Queensland Health, Birtinya, QLD. 
Status: Voluntary, Charity & Social Work 
Role summary: A Peer Support Worker works under direction to facilitate the delivery of supports to consumers of the Sunshine Coast Persistent Pain Management Service (SC PPMS). 
The role assists consumers, carers and families, service providers and non-government organisations to develop a better understanding of the self-management treatment approach for persistent pain, using lived experience to support improved outcomes for consumers. 
Key Responsibilities 
Serve as a positive role model to consumers and workers and as a source of information on the lived experience of managing persistent pain. 
Utilise experience, skills and knowledge in consumer education, support and provide a responsive framework that meets the needs of consumers. 
Provide individualised, one-to-one peer connection, practical assistance and education, drawing on your own lived experience of persistent pain, service-use and self-management and your professional experience as a Peer Support Worker (if any). 
Build safe, trusting relationships with consumers based on shared lived experience and the principles and values of peer support work. 
Remuneration and Conditions 
Remuneration value up to $39 062 p.a., comprising salary rates $38.81 - $43.16 p.h, employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%).

This is a part-time position, 30.4 hours per fortnight.
