Are you a hands-on maintenance professional with leadership experience and a passion for quality infrastructure? The Rural City of Wangaratta is looking for a proactive and skilled Team Leader – Sealed Roads to join our dedicated operations team.
This isn't just about maintaining roads—it's about shaping the future of our region's infrastructure. You'll lead a dedicated crew, champion safety, and ensure every project makes a lasting impact on the community.
What You'll Be Doing
Lead and deliver maintenance & construction programs: Oversee the delivery of sealed road maintenance and construction works in line with Council's strategic plans and the Road Management Plan.
Ensure site safety & compliance: Champion a strong safety culture by adhering to Occupational Health and Safety standards and ensuring accurate documentation.
Operate and supervise equipment use: Confidently operate and oversee the use of plant and machinery including trucks, front-end loaders, backhoes, and chainsaws.
Record and report: Maintain detailed records of works completed, equipment hours, and team time sheets to support project tracking and reporting.
Team collaboration: Work closely with council teams and provide leadership and support across a variety of works and projects.
What We're Looking For
Proven experience in road maintenance or civil construction
Strong leadership and communication skills
A commitment to safety, quality, and teamwork
Relevant plant and machinery operation experience
Ability to maintain accurate records and documentation
