About the Role
This position supports the School Business Manager (SBM) in coordinating the day‐to‐day operations of Curtin Law School, acting as a key escalation point for staff in resolving administrative and operational matters. The role ensures the efficient delivery of core administrative services with responsibility for overseeing transactional activities and a broad range of operational processes.
Working closely with the SBM, Dean and Head of School, Deputy Head of School, and other stakeholders, the incumbent plays a critical role in maintaining consistency, enhancing service delivery, and driving continuous improvement across School operations.
Responsibilities
* Coordinate and support the delivery of School operations in collaboration with the School Business Manager (SBM) and University service providers.
* Act as an escalation point within the administrative function, guiding professional staff and providing advice to academic staff.
* Support workforce management by coordinating recruitment, inductions, and onboarding of new staff, including sessional academic and professional staff.
* Supervise administrative staff, including allocating workloads, monitoring performance, and resolving operational issues.
* Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and resource utilisation, advising the SBM as needed.
* Coordinate Curtin Law School events.
* Provide executive and administrative support to committees, projects, and key initiatives.
* Act as a central contact for stakeholders on operational matters, ensuring clear and consistent communication across the School.
* Oversee updates to School webpages and social media platforms, ensuring content is accurate and current.
* Build effective relationships with stakeholders across the Faculty, Schools, and Centres.
* Support resource planning and monitoring in consultation with the SBM and finance teams.
* Undertake other duties as required, consistent with the level of the position under the guidance of the SBM.
