Procurement Manager – Dairy / Cheese - A newly created opportunity exists for an experienced Procurement Manager to take ownership of a key dairy category within a growing national food manufacturing and supply business. This role will suit a commercially astute procurement professional with strong exposure to dairy, ideally cheese, who is looking to step into a high-impact position with genuine influence over cost, supply strategy and category growth.
The Role
Reporting to the General Manager, this position will take full ownership of the cheese category, with responsibility for driving commercial outcomes across sourcing, supplier management and cost optimisation.
Key responsibilities
* Developing and executing category strategy across cheese and broader dairy
* Sourcing domestic and international supply, with a focus on expanding US & EU import channels
* Driving cost savings and improving gross margins
* Negotiating supplier contracts with strong commercial discipline
* Monitoring commodity markets and pricing cycles
* Identifying alternative products and new sourcing opportunities
* Supporting value-add initiatives across the wider business
This is a highly visible role where success will be measured on tangible commercial outcomes.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
* Proven procurement experience within dairy, ideally cheese
* Background in food manufacturing, dairy processing, grocery or food service supply
* Strong understanding of commodity markets and global sourcing
* Demonstrated capability in negotiation and supplier management
* Commercial acumen with the ability to drive cost and margin outcomes
* A proactive, curious approach to identifying new supply opportunities
You are comfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment and enjoy taking ownership of category decisions that directly impact business performance.
